Graphic Novel Recommendations: BIGFOOT by Pascal Girard

Pascal Girard's sophomore effort in the graphic novel field is an entertaining slice of life of a Canadian teen-ager in the age of social media and how it impacts his life.  The art style is simple and clean and works perfectly for the story.

Jimmy is a high school kid who discovers a friend has posted a video of him dancing up on YouTube, and now he's not only become a thing of ridicule in his school, but he's become a quasi celebrity among the mouth breather's who spend their hours watching such trivia, and Jimmy can barely cope with it.

His Uncle spots what he thinks is Bigfoot in the woods and gets Jimmy to post it online "like he did" with his own video, and the Uncle soon learns that being an internet celebrity is not something to strive for.

It's a simple story, told very straightforward.  Jimmy is not all that likeable but that's what makes him a somewhat socially awkward teen boy.  He seems real.

I'd recommend it.  It's available on Amazon in USED condition for 1c-- you are not going to find a bargain like that anywhere.
