Bozo the Robot Takes A Bite out of Crime!

Bozo the Robot predates the more famous clown by about fifteen years, yet when you hear Bozo chances are you don't think of this Iron Man type of character from SMASH COMICS.

In researching the history of comic book superheroes for my new book from Chartwell I've encountered a host of heroes and heroines who have not seen much in the way of publicity since the 30s and 40s.  Bozo was originally a guy in an advanced suit of armor and then later an actual robot controlled by a scientist designed to go out and fight crime.

There's a lot of charm in these early comic stories.
