THE BRIBE (1949) is on tomorrow at 1045pm with Ava Gardner- it's a film noir I've recommended before if only for the ending which is spectacular with Vincent Price in a great performance.
Wednesday we've got DR JEKYLL AND MR HYDE (1941) with Ingrid Bergman and Spencer Tracy-- it's a solid sometimes disturbing version and Bergman is fantastic as usual. It's on at 8pm, followed by CASABLANCA (1942) right after. If you haven't seen CASABLANCA, the #2 film on the AFI's top 100 films of all time you should be ashamed of yourself and give it a shot. Just stick with it.
Saturday, which is the first of September, has THE BLACK CAT (1934) on at 745am-- Karloff and Lugosi's first ever teaming is still mesmerizing and outlandish fun. It's the MUST SEE PIC PICK OF THE WEEK. David Manners is the least effective male lead ever, letting his wife get man-handled by every villain in the picture. Hammy as it can be, it's one of my favorites.
THE WHISTLER (1943) is on at 1045am-- it's a Columbia B-Movie based on the radio series. It's solid and fun and worth giving it a shot.
