THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME (1923) is on at 6am, Lon Chaney is brilliant as Quasimodo, and we've got a string of Chaney's films this morning including THE MONSTER (1925) at 915am, MR. WU (1927) at 315pm and THE UNHOLY THREE (1930) at 5pm. There's a great documentary at 615pm called LON CHANEY: A THOUSAND FACES-- well worth your time today.
Tuesday we've got:
KING KONG (1933) is on at 730am-- if you haven't seen KONG what's wrong with you? It's an absolute essential.
WHITE CARGO (1942) is on at 1245pm which is a bit corny but it's atmospheric and stars Hey Lamarr.
BORN TO KILL (1947) is one of the most brutal crime films ever done, and it's brilliant, catch it at 230pm.
STRANGERS ON A TRAIN (1951) is on at 8pm and it's one of Hithcock's best, and it gets better everytime you see it. It's about a man meeting a psycho on a train and accidently striking up a relationship with him.
At 8pm we have a quad of Laurence Olivier Shakespearean films-- HENRY V (1944) followed by HAMLET (1948) at 1030pm (my favorite), RICHARD III (1955) at 115am and OTHELLO (1965) at 4am.
Friday THE VAMPIRE BAT (1933) is on at 745am-- not a bad movie, not a great movie, but its got Dwight Frye and vampires in it.
MILDRED PIERCE is on at 8pm and it's a 1945 CLASSIC. I love this movie and all its soap opera cornball aspects. It's the MUST SEE PIC PICK OF THE WEEK in a WEEK OF GREAT MOVIES!
Saturday at 1045am is THE CASE OF THE BLACK CAT (1936) which is long regarded as the best of the Perry Mason films.
FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE (1965) is on at 545pm and that's a Clint Eastwood Western for people who don't like Western's. I love this movie!
LAWRENCE OF ARABIA (1962) is on at 8pm-- its the essentials this week and worth your four hours.
Midnight has SAHARA (1943) with Bogie leading a group of commandos through the desert.
At 2am is SPINE TINGLER! THE WILLIAM CASTLE STORY-- a great documentary on a B-Movie director who deserves.
