Happy Birthday Joe!

Happy Birthday Joe Fish.  The Big 20-- a BIG year.
Joe's a big Superman fan-- I thought it would be appropriate to take a look at the evolution of the Superman logo-- 2013 is slated to be a big year for THE MAN OF STEEL with his new film, and a big year for Big Joe too.

My personal favorite of the logos is the 1941 Max Fleischer design.  The Fleischer Bros produced a series of 17 cartoons from 1941-1943 that are still the benchmarks for American animation, and rival such revered classics as SNOW WHITE for quality.

The Fleischer's were rumored to be planning a series of Batman cartoons as a follow up, and how I wish they had materialized, but hopefully with today's amazing advancements in animation someone who is a fan of the classic material will make a full length homage.
