TCM This Week: ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN

Tonight at 8pm there is a run of Tracy and Hepburn movies including WOMAN OF THE YEAR (1942) at 8pm which is the best of the night-- in my opinion.

OF MICE AND MEN (1939) is on Tuesday night/Wed morning at Midnight-- great adaption of Steinbeck's classic novel with Burgess Meredith and Lon Chaney Jr.

Wednesday day has a great lineup starting with THE RAVEN (1963) at 8pm which is far inferior to the 1935 Universal version-- this one's by Roger (Cheapo) Corman and is a groaner-- but then the night gets off to a good start at 945pm with MURDERS IN THE RUE MORGUE (1932) with Bela Lugosi in a really underrated horror film based on the Poe story.  At 11pm is THE BLACK CAT (1934) and I couldn't recommend this one more if I came to your house and changed the channel.

THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER (1949) is on at 1230am and I've never heard of this version or of a single member of the cast but I'll give it a go.  At 145am is THE TELL TALE HEART (1941) which is a short film but I'd recommend it.  At 430am is DEAD MEN WALK (1943) with George Zucco and its better than you think its going to be.

Thursday night/Friday morning we've got NORTH BY NORTHWEST (1959) at 3am-- if its not Hithcock's best film it's close.

Saturday has a bunch of JUNGLE JIM Movies and they are tough goes but if you liked Weissmueller in the Tarzan films you might like him in these.  THE JUNGLE BOOK (1942) is on in the middle of them with Sabu and it's a really good version.

ALL THE PRESIDENTS MEN (1976) is on at 1030pm and that's the pick of the week and on for today's birthday boy--

--the future governor of the Commonwealth, the right honorable Adam William Fish!
