Please contact Liz Hamilton, Director of Development, at (508)754-2686 ext.205 or lhamilton@bgcworcester.org.

Then on Sunday swing by for ART IN THE AFTERNOON

Arts in the Afternoon is a new, and well-attended annual art celebration at The Boys & Girls Club of Worcester.  This FREE event showcases work from Club kid artists and professional artists, and is a venue for a variety of performances, and art-related activities.

In preparation for this event, Club members participate in art workshops and classes where they create their own artwork; and then sell their pieces at Arts in the Afternoon.  Just like at a professional art gallery, our young artists keep a portion of the sales from artwork sold.

Featuring the artwork of our Club kids and professional artists from all over New England, as well as hands-on art activities, craft demonstrations, a gift shop, and a wide range of artistic performances, Arts in the Afternoon is truly “All Things Art.”

Last year’s event boasted contributions from more than 30 local artists, with performances by local dance teams, youth choirs and orchestras, and a string quartet. Hundred of attendees made Arts in the Afternoon a great place to stroll, listen to live music, and shop!  Local museums made their way to our Club, and offered crafts and activities, as well as information about their offerings.  Weavers demonstrated their art, offering guests an opportunity to try their hand at the loom.

The Boys & Girls Club of Worcester’s many cultural arts programs -- from cooking lessons to music recording – help build our members confidence and foster their love for the ARTS!  Proceeds from Arts in the Afternoon benefits the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester’s programming, which provides the support and resources our members need to BE GREAT!

I have long been a supporter of the Boys and Girls Club and the great work they do.  My art will be among the works you are able to buy or bid on and 100% of the proceeds of the sale go to this amazing organization that makes such a difference to the lives of many of our children (and I credit them myself).

So stop by this worthwhile event and support them!
