TCM This Week! BOGIE in DARK PASSAGE!

Tuesday is a winner--
THEY DRIVE BY NIGHT (1940) is a great programmer drama about hard driving truckers trying to make a living in a Warner Bros backlot.  It's on at 1pm.

DETOUR (1945) is on at 245pm and that's a great little B-title about a guy who picks up a hitch hiker and things go bad.

THE HITCH-HIKER (1953) is on at 530pm about a pair of guys who pick up a hitch hiker and things go worse.

BABY FACE (1933) is a shocking melodrama with Babs Stanwyck sleeping her way up the corporate ladder at 8pm.

HIS GIRL FRIDAY (1940) is on at 1045pm and its Howard Hawks at his best-- this is a witty intelligent comedy-- hard to believe this is the same genre as drek like THE HANGOVER but it is.  Watch it it's good.

Wednesday, also known as Veronica's birthday has SCARED TO DEATH (1947) at 6am which is Bela Lugosi's only color film and its wacko crazy.

Thursday is Basil Rathbone day starting at 645am is Sherlock Holmes and the Secret Weapon (1942) with Rathbone as Sherlock-- and he's awesome in it.  If you like it stick around at 8am for TERROR BY NIGHT (1946) which is another Rathbone Holmes film.

A TALE OF TWO CITIES (1935) is on at 1045am-- great movie.
THE LAST DAYS OF POMPEI (1935) is on at 230pm and its made by the King Kong people so its pretty epic.

THE MARK OF ZORRO (1940) is on at 6pm and thats a really good movie.

Friday night at 8pm is DARK PASSAGE (1947) which is a great Bogie Bacall movie that grows on you with repeated viewings.  The first half is filmed in an experimental style but hold on 'cause its good.  It's the Pic PICK OF THE WEEK.
