TCM This Week! WEDNESDAY MUST SEE!

The Saint and The Falcon are featured in their respective movie series today starting at 745am-- it's basically the same series-- both starred George Sanders as the debonair man about town amatuer detective and eventually he was replaced in the Falcon series by his brother Tom Conway.

They are neat little programmers and a good way to kill an hour or so.

THE SAINT'S DOUBLE TROUBLE (1940) is particularly good-- Sanders plays himself and his double and Bela Lugosi's in it.  It's on at 1015am.
THE FALCON'S BROTHER (1942) is on at 1245 in which Sanders Falcon is killed and replaced by Tom Conway (his real life brother).

Tuesday night we're getting into the season with THE UNKNOWN (1927) at 8pm-- with Lon Chaney Sr.  FREAKS at 915pm which is an amazing film from Tod Browning and BEDLAM (1946) at 1030pm with Boris Karloff in a great Val Lewton film.

Wednesday, Halloween, is the big day.
LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT (1927) which is a long lost film now restored with still photographs starts the day at 630am.
THE GHOUL (1933) is on with Karloff and the great Ernst Thesiger at 730am.
HOUSE OF DARK SHADOWS (1970) at 9am reunites the cast of the campy TV Series in a movie that's actually pretty decent.
DEMENTIA 13 (1963) is on at 1pm and its a real chiller.
THE LAST MAN ON EARTH (1964) is a telling of I Am Legend-- with Vincent Price as the last man among a world of vampires and zombies.
THE DEVIL BAT (1940) is one of the worst movies of all time and it's absolutely drop dead HILARIOUS-- it's on at 4pm and I love this movie so much I have it on my iPod.
WHITE ZOMBIE (1932) is a classic and its on at 515pm -- I've never gotten through it because its kinda slow but its regarded as a gem.
THE BODY SNATCHER (1945) is a great movie with Karloff and Henry Daniel.

The biggies is on at 8pm and its FRANKENSTEIN (1931)-- if you don't know what this is or haven't seen it shame on you.  Get thee to a TV.
SON OF FRANKENSTEIN follows at 930pm-- it's stylish and the lamest of the original trilogy.
THE WOLF MAN (1941) is on at 1115pm and that's a great movie even though it's kinda dopey.
THE MUMMY is on at 1230am and that is a great movie.
THE MUMMYS HAND (1940) is my favorite mummy movie and that's on at 2am
ISLAND OF LOST SOULS (1933) is on at 315am and it's based on HG Welles Island of Dr. Moreau.
THE INVISIBLE MAN (1933) rounds out the night-- James Whale black comedy/horror film is amazing and that's at 430am.

Whew! Good thing I don't work on Thursday mornings!

STRANGER ON THE THIRD FLOOR (1940) is on Saturday at 745am-- considered by many to be the first Film Noir with Peter Lorre as a possible serial killer on the loose.

The Essentials is WUTHERING HEIGHTS (1939) Saturday at 8pm-- a lavish retelling of the classic story.
