TCM This Week! JEKYLL AND HYDE!

Today at 6am is Frederich March in DR JEKYLL AND MR HYDE (1932) which is the best film version of the book.  It's the must see pic pick of the week.

Spencer Tracy is the star of the month-- WHY NOT BELA???-- and they're showing his films starting at 8pm at 8pm is FURY (1936) which is a powerful if preachy film about mob mentality.

On Tuesday you can catch Spence in his version of DR JEKYLL AND MR HYDE (1941) at 945am-- its not as good as the earlier version but its still top notch with Ingrid Bergman and Lana Turner.

Apparently Wednesdays are Classic Horror days for October-- this Wed we have THE HAUNTING (1963) at 8pm which is sometimes scary and sometimes not.
THE UNINVITED (1944) is downright spooky and not just because there is something unnatural about the relationship between the brother and sister in the film.
HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL (1959) is the original Vincent Price/William Castle movie thats at both goofy and spooky.
DEAD OF NIGHT (1945) is a british film which has long been called one of the scariest ever filmed, I don't see it but it's a good movie anyway.
THIRTEEN GHOSTS (1960) is on at 515am - its another William Castle movie but its harmless fun.

NIGHT WAITRESSS (1936) is on Thursday at 645am-- I mean c'mon with a title like that who can pass it up?

I MARRIED A WITCH (1942) is on again at 1230am Friday/Saturday-- I recommended it last week and I'm recommending it again this week.  Veronica Lake is a witch and someone married her.

Saturday gives us THE THIRD MAN (1949) as this week's ESSENTIALS offering- a great movie with a zithophone score that will drive you batty-- but still a great film.
