Tuesday night at 10pm is WHITE HEAT (1949) which is one of the absolute best hard boiled crime dramas-- I wouldn't go so far as to call it Film Noir, but it's close-- and Jimmy Cagney gives an absolutely amazing performance as Cody Jarrett-- TOP OF THE WORLD MA!
1am Wednesday (which is technically Thursday) we've got Lillian Gish and Robert Mitchum in NIGHT OF THE HUNTER (1955) which is Charlie Laughton's ONLY directorial film and it's genius.
BRINGING UP BABY (1938) is on at 12:15am Friday (technically Saturday) with Katherine Hepburn and Cary Grant chasing after a leopard. Brilliant screwball comedy.
The Essentials this week is CAPTAINS COURAGEOUS (1937) which is the kind of movie you sorta start watching and then can't stop, which is a great kind of movie isn't it?
