Movie Monday; FRANKENSTEIN and more TONIGHT on TCM!

Starting tonight at 8pm is the debut of TCM Night at the Movies Horror!  A documentary featuring Stephen King and a host of other masters of the macabre detailing what frightened them as kids.
Then the night takes off with FRANKENSTEIN (1931) at 9pm followed by FREAKS (1932) at 10:15pm.  Two of my absolute favorite movies of all time.  After a re-run of the documentary, we're back with DR JEKYLL AND MR HYDE (1932) at 12:30am then Mark of the Vampire (1935), Cabinet of Caligari (1919) --absolute classic don't miss it and NOSFERATU (1922) at 4:45am-- looks like you'll be tired tomorrow!

Tomorrow night are a couple of lesser Bogart movies, KNOCK ON ANY DOOR (1949) and IN A LONELY PLACE (1950)- these are the films Bogie made after Warners and I personally find them sad and depressing, so I'd pass.

Wednesday night, draw the curtains and take the phone off the hook because it's 1951's THE THING FROM ANOTHER WORLD which is a fantastic Howard Hawks film followed by IT! THE TERROR FROM BEYOND SPACE (1958) which was the basis for the movie ALIEN.  After that is CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1957) with Peter Cushing as the mad doctor.  The scene where he tosses a guy off a balcony is worth the price of admission.

On Thursday at midnight is THE BIG CLOCK (1948) a pretty entertaining who done it where you know who did it but it's fun to watch Ray Milland figure it out anyway-- Columbo before there was Columbo.

Saturday night at 8pm is GUNGA DIN (1939) which is as good an action picture as you'll ever see-- so give it a watch.
